Fiberglass boats are built from the outside inward. So the molds which determine each fiberglass part's shape are painstakingly inspected and polished to insure Steiger Craft's smooth, lasting finish. The smooth, durable gel coat finish is sprayed into the highly polished molds in dust free booths. This polyester resin forms the outer surface and color of each Steiger Craft. Fiberglass is hand laid on the gel coat surface. Though labor intensive and expensive, hand lay-up assures the glass-to-resin ratios and uniform thickness that make Steiger Craft Boats stronger and more durable. To insure uniform laminate layers which give the strength Steiger Craft is known for, the fiberglass and resin are rolled smooth and evenly distributed by hand.
The boat "cures" in its mold, allowing the heat of the polymer reaction to dissipate for many hours. This ensures that your Steiger Craft will always retain its original shape for optimum performance and lasting durability, and is fundamental to our lifetime gaurantee. The inverted U-shape fiberglass grid system is  fiber glassed to the hull before the  closed cell  foam flotation is sprayed into the cavities. This gives each Steiger Craft a lasting, rock solid, strength and durability. Through-bolts and locking nuts used to secure hardware are laboratory grade stainless to resist the elements. Electronics, windshield systems, hardtops and canvas options are installed 200 checkpoints are passed before the boat is ready for delivery, in addition each boat is water tested. The result is a safe, durable craft you and your family will enjoy for many years to come.
